New To Blogspot

Hi no one,

just thought I'd familiarize myself with how this works. Although I've been following style bloggers since the very beginning of this phenomenon I am totes new to style blogging. The first blog that I ever followed was DulceCandy who I think paved the way for other style bloggers to come out the closet. Dulce was stationed in Iraq during the war and used fashion and makeup to help her cope with carrying a gun around and working as an engineer in the army.

While typing that sentence I had a moment, it's amazing what our armed forces deal with. I command them and I am so grateful for their bravery and how much they sacrifice to keep America safe. That's also what I love about fashion, it's an art I can see in everything. Camouflage has become an iconic print in the industry which then turned into 'Military Glam' trend. I remember doing a Military inspired cover for my magazine in 2007. The title of the fashion spread was 'Military Glam'. I remember my friend Ashley (HEY ASH! :) messaged me and said, "I love your magazine but I don't agree with the term Military Glam". She was active in the NAVY at the time and went on to explain how hurtful it is to glamorize such a horrific duty. My intensions were in the right place but Ashley helped me realize how some may be offended by my work. Since then, I have sopped using the term 'Military Glam' and I hope you do too.

Today's S.T.D: Commander in Chic. Rock some army fatigue with a pop of color for Spring
